# Google Maps ASO audit worksheet

Use alongside https://www.asoagency.com/briefs/google-maps. Published copy proposals are hypotheses, not tested outcomes.

## Define your scope

- App and listing URL:
- Store, territory, language and device:
- Observation date and reviewer:
- Visitor intent and source:

## Your ASO assignment

1. Separate app feedback from reviews of places or services discovered through your app.
2. Match a broad feature headline to one specific demonstrated travel task.
3. Write a test that keeps estimates and geographic coverage distinct from guarantees.

## Keep evidence separate from judgment

For each of your first three screenshots record: source URL, capture date, visible content, interpretation and proposed action. Identify the material that must remain unchanged.

## Review the proposed copy

Name: Google Maps
Subtitle: Plan trips. Find your route.

Reasoning: Retain the brand and connect planning with navigation using two concrete jobs shown in the sequence. The proposal avoids guaranteed timing and does not imply that a conversational answer is always correct.

Tradeoff: The current subtitle explicitly includes places, navigation and traffic. This alternative loses the place-discovery term and traffic wording, which may be valuable intentions; test that tradeoff before narrowing the default page.

## Handover

Include the original listing snapshot, source links, dated review sample and selection method, competitor observations, copy decisions, approved creative, test brief and remaining evidence gaps.

## Evidence still needed in this audit

- Current conversational feature coverage and supported mobile workflow.
- Driving, transit and local-discovery visitor mix.
- Conversion baseline and recent stationary comprehension and readability research.
