The platform that is the market

ASO agencies in Brazil · September 2026
Brazil is the largest app market in Latin America and one of the largest in the world by installs. Its ASO market is shaped by one company, RankMyApp in São Paulo, a data platform with services on top and six hundred clients. Below it sit agências de marketing digital who added ASO to a menu built for Google and Instagram. Here is what a platform-first market does to the human part of the work.
Thinking about a Brazilian ASO agency? Let me explain what a one-platform market looks like.
Gabriel Machuret · September 2026Brazil should have a thriving ASO agency scene. It has more than two hundred million people, an app economy that rivals Europe’s, and a startup culture in São Paulo that produces serious mobile companies. Instead it has one dominant player and a long tail. RankMyApp, founded in 2015, calls itself the first Brazilian company entirely focused on mobile intelligence and performance, works with Nike, Duolingo and Sephora in the region, and has effectively become the market. Everyone else either resells its ideas or competes on price with a digital agency’s instincts.
A platform-first market has a specific shape. The platform earns from subscriptions, and subscriptions are worth most when they renew for years. Managed services exist to make the platform indispensable: someone from the vendor runs your ASO inside their dashboard, reports through their dashboard, and shows you results in their dashboard. Over time your keyword history, review analytics and ranking memory all live somewhere you do not own. Leaving becomes expensive, not because the contract is punitive, but because the memory of your own store is inside their product. That is the deal at the top of the Brazilian market, and it is a reasonable deal for a regional brand that wants a regional platform.
The long tail is a different problem. Brazilian agências de marketing digital are excellent at Google, Instagram and WhatsApp, which is where Brazilian marketing budgets actually go. ASO arrived as a service line when clients started asking, and it arrived with the instincts of the channels the agency already knew: keyword density, content, social proof, monthly reporting. Applied to the App Store those instincts produce a stuffed description, a screenshot set borrowed from the brand’s Instagram grid, and a ‘visibility’ report. The work is done with energy. It is the wrong work.
The regional depth cuts both ways. Brazilian agencies genuinely understand the Brazilian storefront: Portuguese search behaviour, local review dynamics, the way Google Play dominates over iOS in the country. If Brazil is your market, that depth is real and RankMyApp in particular has it at scale. If you are a Brazilian app aiming at the US, Europe or the Spanish-speaking neighbours, the same agencies have far fewer references and the same process.
There is also the boost culture, which is quieter in Brazil than in Asia but present. Some packages include incentivised installs or review campaigns to hit ranking promises, and Brazilian developers have lost accounts over it. Ask any agency, in writing, where its installs come from.
Against that: one consultant with no platform and no regional bias. The teardown in the markets your installs come from. The rewrite, with native Portuguese copy where the market demands it. One screenshot test at a time. The handover, with the keyword map and the test log in files you own. The fee is fixed and comparable to a few months of a São Paulo retainer, and nothing about it is designed to keep you anywhere.
To be fair to Brazil: if your core market is Brazil or wider Latin America and you want a platform with regional depth plus people who run it, RankMyApp is the obvious candidate and its scale is unmatched. If you want independent judgment on your listing, ownership of your own store history, or a market beyond the region, the platform-first model is the wrong shape. Send me the proposal and I will show you what the human work costs without the seat.
Whatever ASO agency in Brazil you are talking to, the questions are the same: what ASO services actually contain, what they should cost, and whether you need an agency or a consultant at all. The individual agency reviews cover the named players.

02 — What ASO costs in Brazil, honestly
Typical local rates · illustrative, not quotesBrazilian fees are moderate and the regional platform is genuinely good for regional brands. The cost that does not appear on the invoice is your store’s memory living inside someone else’s product.

I will separate the service from the subscription, tell you what your listing needs in your actual markets, and quote it as a fixed fee. If a regional platform is the right call, I will say so.
Objections
A data source is. A platform you are locked into is not. I use what fits your markets and hand your team a subscription they own.
For regional data, yes. For deciding what your listing should say, ask who on the team will form an opinion about your category. Read the review on this site.
I handle the strategy and structure and work with native copy where needed. If you need regional review management at scale, a platform is a fair option for that piece.
Meaningfully, in reais. The question is what the fee buys: a platform seat with an analyst, or someone thinking about your category.
