ASO Audit Service: Find the Next Useful Change
A focused review of your listing, target market and available evidence, with a prioritized action plan for your team.
When this is useful
You have a live app or launch draft, but you are unsure whether discovery, conversion or the product promise needs attention first. An audit brings those questions into one evidence record.
How the work is structured
1. Baseline and context
Agree the app, store, market and business question. Review console exports when available; a public-only review is explicitly limited to observable listing evidence.
2. Research and diagnosis
Inspect relevant competitors, metadata, creative and user-language themes. Distinguish confirmed problems, plausible hypotheses and information that is still missing.
3. Prioritized handover
Receive findings with evidence, recommended actions, confidence and ownership. Discuss what needs implementation, what needs testing and what the product team should investigate.
What to bring
- Store URLs, target markets and current objective
- Relevant console exports if a performance diagnosis is needed
- Recent listing changes, product releases and campaign context
What the scope can include
- A defined-market listing review
- An evidence and limitations log
- A prioritized backlog with suggested validation
- A handover discussion about the next decisions
Example of the work
Illustrative finding: the opening screenshot promises automatic route planning, but the product is a manual hiking journal. The recommendation is to correct that expectation before testing cosmetic variants.
This is an illustrative deliverable, not a claimed client result. For a public example of the reasoning, read the outside-in Calm brief, which does not use private client data.
Scope and limitations
Implementation, asset production, translations and campaign management are separate scope decisions. Rankings and install growth cannot be guaranteed.
Cost and timing
Share the app, market and decision you need help with. The deliverables, responsibilities, fee and schedule are agreed before work begins. If a different type of support is more appropriate, that should be clear during scoping.
Common questions
Will I need to provide console access?
Public listing work can start with a URL. Performance diagnosis needs relevant first-party evidence. Agree the minimum access or exports during scoping; missing data is recorded as a limitation.
Are implementation and ongoing support included?
Only when included in the agreed scope. Confirm who approves and publishes changes, which assets will be produced, and whether follow-up analysis is part of the engagement.
