ASO agencies in Switzerland · September 2026

ASO agency Switzerland: Zurich rates for a store listing that costs the same to fix from anywhere.

Switzerland has the highest agency rates in Europe, a small and wealthy app market, and a handful of Zurich, Geneva and Lausanne digital agencies that sell App Store Optimisation alongside everything else. The listing you are trying to fix lives in the same App Store as every other listing on earth. The only thing Swiss about the engagement is the invoice. Here is what a premium-market retainer buys and why geography is the wrong reason to pay it.

Thinking about a Swiss ASO agency? Let me explain what the premium actually pays for.

Gabriel Machuret · September 2026

Switzerland is an easy country to be expensive in. Salaries are high, rents are high, and clients, banks, pharma, luxury, fintech, are used to paying for quality and proximity. The agency market reflects that: excellent, discreet, multilingual, and priced at a level that makes London look reasonable. When those agencies sell App Store Optimisation, and the digital shops in Zurich and Geneva do, the price carries the full Swiss premium. The question is what, in a store listing, the premium buys.

The honest answer is proximity and language. A Swiss agency can meet you in Zurich, invoice in francs, handle German, French and Italian storefronts with native staff, and pass the procurement of a Swiss bank. Those are real conveniences and for some clients they are decisive. None of them changes what the listing needs. The App Store in Switzerland is the same App Store; the ranking systems do not know your postcode; and the work of rewriting a title, testing a first screenshot and building a keyword architecture costs the same in hours whether the hours are Swiss or not. You are paying Swiss hours for a global task.

The second Swiss pattern is the multilingual default. Switzerland’s three main languages make every listing a localisation problem, and Swiss agencies lead with it. Correctly, as far as it goes. But localisation is the last step. A first-screenshot claim decided for German-speaking Zurich and translated for Geneva is still one claim, and it may be the wrong one for both. The decision comes before the languages, and the languages are what the premium funds.

The third pattern is the enterprise bias. Swiss agencies serve banks, pharma and luxury, and they run engagements the way those clients expect: discovery, stakeholder workshops, governance, quarterly reviews. For a Swiss fintech or health app with one listing, that is a great deal of discretion and governance to arrive at a rewrite.

The fourth is the generalist reality. A market of nine million people cannot support a dedicated ASO agency, so none exists. The Swiss shops that sell ASO are digital agencies with a page, staffed from the SEO or performance team, applying Google or media instincts to a store that has neither.

Against that: one consultant with no Zurich office and no premium to justify. A teardown of your listing in the markets your installs come from, which for most Swiss apps is Germany first and then the wider world. A rewrite with the claim decided before the languages. One test. A handover with dates, and native copy for each language after the decisions are made. The fee is fixed and a fraction of a single quarter at a Swiss agency.

To be fair to Switzerland: if you are a bank or a pharma company and procurement requires a Swiss vendor with Swiss discretion and a Swiss contract, the local agencies exist for exactly that reason and they are good at it. If you are an app whose listing needs to work, geography is the wrong reason to pay the premium. Send me the proposal and I will show you which lines are the listing and which are the address.

01 — What you will actually find when you search

What the first page of results actually contains
01

The Zurich digital agency

Excellent, discreet, expensive. ASO as a page staffed from the SEO team.

02

The Geneva agence digitale

The same, in French, for the same clients.

03

The enterprise consultancy

Discovery, governance, workshops, quarterly reviews. A quarter to reach a rewrite.

04

The multilingual localisation firm

Excellent German, French and Italian for a claim decided elsewhere.

05

The German agency across the border

Berlin frameworks at Berlin prices, which suddenly look reasonable.

06

The software house

Built your app, would like to build the next version.

Swiss rates are the highest in Europe and buy proximity, discretion and languages. The store listing costs the same in hours everywhere, and the hours are the only thing the ranking system sees.

03 — Six questions to ask any Swiss ASO agency

Take these to the first call
  1. Is ASO your core business, or a page staffed from the SEO or performance team?
  2. What in this engagement requires a Swiss office, and what would the same scope cost from Berlin?
  3. Is the first-screenshot claim decided per language, or decided once and translated?
  4. Which apps have you ranked in the German storefront, our biggest market, with organic changes only?
  5. How many weeks of discovery and governance are billed before the first change ships?
  6. When the contract ends, what does our team run on its own?

04 — Should you hire an ASO agency in Switzerland?

Honest answer: depends who you are

Avoid if

You are paying the premium for geography rather than for a skillThe agency is a digital shop with an ASO pageThe claim is decided once and translated three timesThere is an enterprise discovery phase before any listing change

Hire locally if

You are a bank or pharma company and procurement requires a Swiss vendorSwiss discretion and a Swiss contract are genuinely decisiveYou need three languages handled natively and the decisions are already made

Send me
the Zurich
proposal.

I will separate the address from the listing, tell you which decisions should come before the languages, and quote the listing work as a fixed fee from anywhere. If a Swiss vendor is a procurement requirement, I will say so.

Five-minute video. No pitch, no sequence. If your ASO is fine, I say so.

Objections

Swiss quality justifies Swiss prices, surely?+

For proximity, discretion and languages, yes. The store listing is the same task everywhere and the ranking system does not see the invoice.

We need German, French and Italian.+

Decide the claim first, then write it natively in each. Swiss agencies do the second well and often skip the first.

Should we just use a German agency?+

Berlin prices look reasonable from Zurich, and the frameworks are excellent. Read the Germany page on this site for what a framework costs.

Can you work with a Swiss bank’s procurement?+

Often, on a fixed-fee contract. If a Swiss entity is a hard requirement, a local agency exists for that reason.
