ASO keyword research and metadata course
Build a defensible keyword proposal from product evidence, customer language and competitor observations. Ten practical lessons take you from a scoped research question to approved metadata and a professional handover.

Your final deliverable
A research pack containing original candidates, source references, customer-language themes, competitor observations, approved metadata, reasons for exclusions and remaining evidence gaps. You will carry the proposal into Listing Studio for review with your creative assets.
Research on your own app
Bring your product knowledge, public listing observations and a review sample you can use. Or load the fictional Trail Notes example in the tools. No paid platform is required. Allow roughly eight to nine hours including assignments; collecting new evidence may take longer.
Three connected research tools
- Keyword Research Workbench: preserve candidates, map intent and document metadata decisions.
- App Review Research Desk: filter imported reviews, assign themes and trace findings to original text.
- Competitor Positioning Matrix: compare observed claims, evidence, audiences and creative approaches.
The tools share one locally saved research project. Export backups for portability. Metadata transfers show the destination and changed fields before confirmation.

Detailed instruction, a worked example, three instructional diagrams, an ASO assignment, handover criteria, a self-check and a downloadable workbook. Completion is self-recorded; the assessment is whether another person can reconstruct and verify your decisions from the finished pack.
Sources and limits
Platform references were checked on 30 September 2026 and are linked in the relevant lessons. Trail Notes, Route Beacon and their review samples are fictional teaching material. Imported metrics remain user-supplied evidence; the tools do not invent search volume, rank predictions or automated sentiment scores.
